1996-1997 Camaro for Sale

1996 & 1997 Used Camaros

1996 continued the fourth generation Camaro without major design changes. The optional 231 cid V6 engine from the previous year was now standard, dropping the 207 cid V6. the Z28 and convertible options continued, but a new Rally Sport (RS) model was added. This appearance package included a rear spoiler, ground effect side molding and front and rear fascias. Another familiar package from Camaro history, the SS (Super Sport) was also available in 1996 & 1997. This was actually not a factory option (yet) but rather a dealer coordinated outside modification done by SLP Engineering. They installed a 305 horsepower LT1 engine under a special forced induction hood with functional scoop. A new rear spoiler, 17”x9” Corvette wheels, upgraded suspension and special badging completed the SS Camaro package.

1996, 1997 Camaro History

1997 marked the 30th anniversary of the Camaro and GM celebrated with a limited edition Z28 30th Anniversary model. This RPO Z4C package included Arctic White paint with Hugger Orange stripes and trim. The interior was white leather, with or without a black & white houndstooth cloth inserts and included a 30th Anniversary logo in the head rests. And from this 30th Anniversary edition comes quite possibly the fastest Camaro ever built. SLP Engineering took just over 100 of these already special edition cars and dropped the potent 330 horsepower LT4 engine in them.
