77,000 original mile Camaro stored for 30+ years
Here's a true survivor Camaro for sale that was snatched up on eBay recently for $9,472. The term "barn find" is thrown out a lot, but this on was truley pulled out of an Ohio barn after sitting there untouched for 30+ years. Obviously it needed a complete fluid flush and transfusion, but with just a new starter and battery she fired up and was ready to roll.
This first year Camaro is a true numbers matching car that hasn't been molested over the years. It will make a great restoration project for the new owner. It's still powered by the original 327 small block and Powerglide automatic transmission. The original Emerald Turquoise paint and black vinyl top are understandably worn, but it's a great looking color combo. Other than the hood, which is from another '67 Camaro, the sheet metal is all original and only has a few rust spots. The black deluxe interior is in good shape considering the age and conditions it was stored in.
Although not a big block or ultra rare model, the options on this RS make it a very desirable restoration candidate. Factory cruise control, power windows and 8-track stand on top of the rather long options list. Others include tilt steering, remote mirror, power brakes, deluxe interior and seat belts, power steering, console, hood and trunk light, rear defogger and of course the R/S package.
Any true car guy can only dream of uncovering a barn find like this. Let's hope the new owner breathes new life into this classic Camaro and she hits the roads again soon.
